Workshops

Discover interesting phenomena, solve scientific puzzles, conduct experiments, learn more, and feel like a scientist under the watchful eye of our explainers. Our Workshops are short classes conducted in various parts of the Copernicus Science Centre.

In the Exhibition space, you can meet explainers who run one of our several workshops:

  • Microworld. Together we will look at the array of colours and meanings hidden under the microscope and discover the secrets of plants and animals;
  • The Other Way Round. Thanks to simple experiments, you will find out in which direction shells of snails – whom you will spot more and more often at this time of year – turn. You will also find out if the plants awaking after winter have a recipe for arranging their flowers and rhizomes, and if lemon and orange or caraway and mint actually smell... the same?
  • Night Sky. We will try to recognize real meteorites by performing simple experiments. Based on our own imagination, creativity, and cooperation, we will create original asterisms and give them original names. We will also look at the images everyone can see on the Moon.
  • In the World of Sound. You will be able to notice a sound wave, hear sounds and feel the vibrations associated with them on your skin! You will speed up the sound carousel, make the fire dance and persuade the tuning fork to play football. You will learn about the construction and operation of musical instruments, their parts and other sound-related devices. You will also learn about the creation, amplification and reception of sound in our bodies, as well as its use in everyday life and the natural environment.

All workshops are conducted in Polish.

Copernicus on Wheels

And that is not all!  In the Exhibition space, you can also encounter a mobile stand with experiments, “Copernicus on Wheels”. Where can you find it? You have to look around because it can be anywhere!

At the stand, you will build a simple musical instrument. You will listen to sounds that we usually don’t hear. Optical illusions will deceive you. You will learn about the imperfections of our bodies. And you will try to solve some puzzles that seem trivial only at first glance.
