dekoracja
  • What: Café
  • Where: Level 1
  • When: Throughout the festival

What would Przemiany Festival be without its café, offering delicious coffee and a unique menu? As every year, we invite you to the tastiest corner of the Copernicus Science Centre. Here, you can catch your breath and nourish your body and senses.  Expect juicy, seasonal, and local items. This year, the café is hosted by Rost – a Warsaw-based micro roastery well-known to local coffee lovers from STOR Café.

ROST is a roastery that cares about the planet and supports coffee growers. It is the only roastery in Poland that uses fully home-compostable bags and labels. They collaborate with the most sustainable green coffee importers, such as Volcafe and Ocafi.

STOR Café’s DNA is built around quality, inclusivity, and care for the environment. The owners constantly seek ways to reduce their carbon footprint, eliminate unnecessary packaging, and minimise food waste. We share these values and are excited to have STOR with us this year.

For the past 3 years, the café has been a gathering spot under the motto ‘At the Communal Table’, and this year will be no different.

How to design food consciously?

Aga Lepka and Kamila Knap – the creators of the Shroom brand, couldn’t find beverages that met their quality criteria. They searched for natural drinks, free from sweeteners, low in sugar, and still very flavourful. During the pandemic, they discovered the fascinating kingdom of mushrooms and decided to join the global mushroom revolution. They created a drink that contains nothing that is unhealthy, and provides daily support for the body.

During the meeting with Kamila Knap, you will be able to taste Shroom's Power and Relax drinks. You will learn what functional food and adaptogens are. We will also talk about why mushrooms are called the food of the future and how it is possible that they have only become so popular in recent years.

Shroom – the first brand of functional beverages in the EU using medicinal mushrooms and adaptogens. Shroom drinks are designed to provide pleasure, health, and well-being at the same time.

In Poland, almost 5 million tons of food are thrown away each year. Globally, wasted food accounts for about 10% of CO2 emissions.

Most food waste occurs in home kitchens, and one of the main causes is improper food storage. Wondering why tomatoes rebel in the fridge, lettuce loses its crispness in plastic, you strictly follow expiration dates on product packaging, and keep spices in a cabinet near the oven? Join this workshop, which promises to transform your kitchen.

Sylwia Majcher – the author of best-selling educational books and an expert in food waste prevention, will present a number of patents to help reduce waste. There will be plenty of ideas for storing and using up leftovers. You will learn how much discarded food would fit into a football stadium and what happens to the products that end up in the bin. Together, we will make live vinegar from apple peels and cores.

This session will spark your appetite for reducing waste and increase your culinary awareness.
