Our ideas of what learning is are built upon our daily life in schools – spaces, relationships, tools and methods of work. The Make It Open project aims to elaborate tools and methods which make it possible to include tasks that are important for local communities in the process of school education (open schooling). With a cooperation between schools, local NGOs, companies, and universities, the educational experience will be connected to a sense of agency, solving real issues, and usefulness in everyday life.
Copernicus Science Centre is one of the 10 science centres in Europe that will eventually gather around 150 schools interested in the idea of open schooling. In Make it Open, Copernicus is responsible for supporting schools that are in the transformation phase, and assisting a cooperation between partners and experts.
