Duo Karolina Mikołajczyk & Iwo Jedynecki is one of the most interesting chamber ensembles of the young generation. The artists reach for famous pieces of chamber literature to arrange them into a violin-accordion duet. The world famous violinist Maxim Vengerov described them as “a duo so well-matched that it sounds like one instrument.” The ensemble also performs contemporary music and collaborates with leading Polish composers.
Duo Karolina Mikołajczyk & Iwo Jedynecki are winners of Grand Prix and 1st prizes at international music competitions (France, Italy, Austria, Croatia, Poland), performing i.e. at the New York Carnegie Hall, Guangzhou Opera House and Warsaw Philharmonic, where they enjoyed their debut to a sold-out audience. They have played recitals in France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Georgia, United States, Cuba, Chile, China, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Brunei and Thailand. Now, they will play in our Planetarium.
In 2016, they published their debut album Premiére. It was the first album on the global market with new music performed by a violin-accordion duet.
